What are seasonal illnesses?

Seasonal illnesses are common viruses, infections, and other diseases that arise during specific times of the year. For example, the influenza virus is a seasonal illness that is most common during fall and winter since it impacts patients at a much greater rate within these seasons than other times.

However, seasonal illnesses are some of the most common types of diseases that patients will have to manage. Influenza, seasonal allergies, the common cold, strep throat, and other diseases are thankfully treatable at our urgent care center!

What are seasonal injuries?

Seasonal injuries are types of acute and minor injuries that happen during certain points of the year than others. Injuries such as sprains, bone breaks, muscle pains, and aches occur throughout the year, but may have different causes due to the time of year.

For example, the summer season may lead to a spike in sunburn cases if patients don’t’ take the time to apply proper sunscreen during especially a hot day. Seasonal injuries that we can help treat at AFC Allen include seasonal insect bites, sunburn, sports-related injuries, and more!

AFC Urgent Care Allen accepts most major insurance plans and provides affordable self-pay options for uninsured individuals. For more information about seasonal care, please call us at (469) 640-4232.
